Episode 17: Waking Your Inner Wonder Woman
Transcript
Welcome to the Serve Love Lift Podcast! I’m Tiffany Garvin.
Years ago on a quiet beach in Hawaii, I felt the weight of the pain and struggles we all face in this world and how much we need each other. Soon after, this movement was born to Serve Love and Lift.
I believe that we are meant to serve the world with our unique gifts, love ourselves and others, and lift each other up to live with joy!
This podcast is here to help you heal your heart and your life and empower you on your path to becoming the best version of yourself
I invite you to listen carefully and jot down notes that come to mind whether they come from me or your own heart Then, share this episode with 3 people who you feel could use it today
I’m so glad you’re here! Let’s get going.
This is magic that energizes and encourages you; magic that draws in people and opportunities to help you succeed; and magic that gives you access to the remarkable power you have inside just waiting to supercharge your life.
Have you ever wished to be saved from a really difficult situation? Me too. Have you ever wished for power to overcome your challenge? Me too. I think both can make sense depending on the situation. I’ve been in circumstances where I was so worn out, overwhelmed, and confused that I felt like the only way out was for someone to swoop in to rescue me from the mess I was in. Then, there are the regular and frequent challenges that I pray for strength and access to power greater than my own so I can overcome the trial or succeed in my goal. I wanted to feel empowered, not saved.
I love the visual from the movie Wonder Woman where the bad guy’s throwing every scrap of metal and weaponry at her in ferocious volume and she’s running toward him through the barrage with such determination, clarity, and power that there’s sort of a force field clearing the way in front of her. It’s one of the coolest moments!
Each time I watch that part, I wish for every woman, young woman (and every human, really) to be and feel that powerful against their opposition. I believe we have that kind of power inside of us just waiting to be harnessed.
There are three things I noticed watching Wonder Woman in that epic moment that may help awaken your inner Wonder Woman.
First, she knew who she was. For her it was a new revelation that she was a deity. This was her responsibility and her destiny. She had no idea the extent of her power before that moment, and it changed everything.
So, you need to know who you are. Not necessarily your roles as wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and such, unless it’s relevant to the circumstance. What IS your role in this situation? What are your responsibilities? If it’s working toward a goal, is it in alignment with your highest good? Is it meant for you?
Know that you are a powerful, beautiful, and loved divine being with unique gifts and talents that are meant to serve the world and bring you joy.
Second, Wonder Woman knew her purpose. She was clear, focused, and committed to ending the war in men’s hearts and on the battlefield. She knew why she was there and that it was up to her to save the day.
So, know your purpose. It doesn’t have to be your life’s purpose, but that’s always helpful if you have that clarity. I mean your current objective, whether it’s resolving a challenge or achieving a goal.
This is also WHY you’re doing it. What does it mean to you? Why is the effort worthwhile? What will happen if you succeed? Are you all in?
Third, Wonder Woman believed wholeheartedly that she could beat the bad guy and restore peace to all who were affected by his evil influence. She believed in love and its power to heal.
So, believe that you will win the day and get what your heart desires. Believe that your cause is just and deserves every effort to dismiss doubt and discouragement. Whether you’ll get there on your own or with reinforcements, you will succeed.
Leave doubt behind and move forward with confidence. Own this path, whatever it looks like, and you’ll rise to the challenge.
With these three things present, there’s a bit of magic that happens when you move forward. When you know who you are, you know why you’re engaged in the fight, and you believe that you’ll come out victorious, you will create magic! This is magic that energizes and encourages you; magic that draws in people and opportunities to help you succeed; and magic that gives you access to the remarkable power you have inside just waiting to supercharge your life.
As you learn to focus and be intentional about how you face your challenges, you’ll find that your inner Wonder Woman will rise and help you triumph.

How are you feeling? Excited and ready to go? Or have various layers of resistance surfaced? When we get closer and begin moving toward solutions and success, that’s when opposition shows up. While it can be frustrating, it’s actually a good thing! Seriously. You’re drawing out the thoughts, feelings, and wounds that could hold you back from overcoming your challenge or reaching your goal. So, in a way you can be grateful when resistance shows up. If you can’t see it, and it’s subtle in its sabotaging, it’s harder to fix. When you can see it, you can resolve it.
So, what’s the first thing coming up for you? Some negative thoughts telling you in one way or another that you can’t do it? Is it a sick feeling in your stomach or restriction in your throat? Maybe it’s just a feeling of dread that you can’t quite pinpoint. I hate that. But, no worries! You’ve got this!
Identify it as clearly as you can. Give it a name or some kind of description. Sense how strong it is. Then, pull it out of you and hold it at arm's length. Recognize it as separate from you. This resistance is not you. It’s just information trying to influence you. Cut off its power over you. You’re in charge.
Focus on that issue and neutralize it by thinking the word RELEASE and breathe. Let go of all the beliefs, thoughts, and emotions that are trying to hold you back. Think RELEASE again and breathe. It’s getting smaller and weaker. One more time, RELEASE and take a deep breath. Good job.
If more opposition is surfacing and creating doubt or intimidation, pause the show and repeat the RELEASE technique until it calms down.
If you’re good to go, let’s build up your belief and intentionally invite your inner Wonder Woman to step up and help you win.
Think of a statement that helps you feel strong and capable. It could be something like, “I am Wonder Woman.” Or, “I can do this.” Or, “I’m bigger than my challenge.” Take a second and write something down that inspires you.
When you have the statement, check in to see how true it feels. Figure out where it lands on a 0-10 scale, for example. Got it?
Now, repeat the statement and STRENGTHEN it up that scale toward feeling true and breathe. Don’t get caught up on whether it’s true now or not. If it’s good and right and will help you feel stronger to achieve your objective, go for it. Repeat the statement again and breathe. You’re telling your subconscious that this is how you want to be and feel. It will believe it, then help you create it. Last time, think of the statement and take a deep breath. You’re choosing a path! Great job!
Review this statement many times during the day–each day–follow impressions that come, and act on them quickly until you truly feel and believe it or you accomplish your goal. You’re amazing!
Your inner Wonder Woman is inside you excited to help you overcome your challenges and make your dreams come true. Unleash her. Harness her power and beauty to fill your life with meaning, health, and joy. Just like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, you have it in you already to create the life you desire. Believe it. Believe in you! I’m cheering you on!
