Episode 15: Cancel Regret and Embrace Hope
Transcript
Welcome to the Serve Love Lift Podcast! I’m Tiffany Garvin.
Years ago on a quiet beach in Hawaii, I felt the weight of the pain and struggles we all face in this world and how much we need each other. Soon after, this movement was born to Serve Love and Lift.
I believe that we are meant to serve the world with our unique gifts, love ourselves and others, and lift each other up to live with joy!
This podcast is here to help you heal your heart and your life and empower you on your path to becoming the best version of yourself
I invite you to listen carefully and jot down notes that come to mind whether they come from me or your own heart Then, share this episode with 3 people who you feel could use it today
I’m so glad you’re here! Let’s get going.
There are many things that can keep us stuck and prevent us from creating the life we desire. As we come to the end of the year and consider our experiences and choices throughout the year, is there anything causing you to hesitate moving into next year feeling confident and free? Do you wish you could change how something finished? Or, did you leave something unfinished? How are you interpreting the experiences and your responses from this past year?
I have my share of things I wish I would have done differently over the last 12 months. Times when I was a little too bold and times I wasn’t bold enough. Moments when fear won over determination and perfectly laid plans went up in smoke. I’ve felt the sting of failure and the gratitude for miracles. This past year was filled with many opportunities to learn and grow, and I hope I learned well. I admit that I’m grateful for the opportunity for a fresh start in just a few days.
I believe time is organized into sections and chunks in part to give us these new opportunities to start again and again. It’s built into life the chance to start over and rethink a new approach – to mark the end of something less than ideal and begin something more in alignment with who we are and what we want. It could be a job, a hobby, a relationship or even a mindset. How can you take advantage of this fresh start life is giving you with the new year?
Maybe you need to forgive. Forgiveness, redemption, and atonement are all principles that offer a reset to life and our trajectory.
If you need to forgive someone for wronging you, do it. Not for them, but to free you!
If you need to ask forgiveness from someone, do it. Give them and you the gift of releasing the shackles of grudges and wounds.
If you need to forgive yourself for something or for not doing something, do it. See yourself and your mistakes with compassion, take measures to make it right if you can, and then move on.
We’re all doing the best we can with what we’ve got in any given moment. Choose forgiveness and freedom over anger, resentment, hurt, and emotional bondage.
Maybe you need a new vision to lean into. What do you want to create in the new year? A new relationship? A new career? New memories with friends and family? Maybe a new internal you with more peace, joy, and self-love.
If you need to create new habits to support your goals, do it. Don’t wait for permission or external validation that you’re worth the effort!
If you need to create a new vision so your path can become clear, do it. Push through the resistance and spend those few minutes to decide what you want your life to look like, feel like, and be for you.
If you need to find an accountability partner to keep you on track with your new direction, do it. Do you have a friend, family member or mentor that you trust to help you? Let me know if you need help finding someone. I may have an idea or two.
If you need to face some wounds and heal them, do it. Just because you have some things that need to heal, it doesn’t mean that you’re bad or flawed. You are good. You are beautiful. And you deserve to feel relief and be happy! Remember compassion and heal those wounds. We’ll work on them together in just a bit.
I invite you to…
Leave behind - regret and insecurity, fears and doubts, offense and victimhood, and old narratives of worthlessness and powerlessness
Embrace moving forward - hope and possibilities, vision and strength, purpose and dreams, and a continuing willingness to learn and grow
Commit to feeling new purpose and getting clear on your goals and dreams. Commit to embracing the journey of growth, even if it’s bumpy. Be determined to create the narrative you want to live in the new year.

What feelings have surfaced for you as we’ve been talking? Regret? Frustration? Sadness? Anxiety? Fear? Do you need to forgive?
Take a moment to recognize what your heart’s trying to tell you right now. Write down any thoughts that come. Sometimes just giving voice to the wound or block can free it up.
What do you need to let go of from this last year so that you can move forward? Don’t carry anything beyond this moment that’s holding you back. Don’t let the wounds of the past prevent you from succeeding in the future. Make a clean break and move into the new year and all its possibilities with hope, optimism, and excitement.
Ok, what’s coming up for you to heal? Identify it and write it down if you haven’t already. How intense is it? Strong? Medium? Or is it mild?
Let’s work through that for a minute. Remember how it goes? Think RELEASE and take a deep breath. Let go of all that pressure and pain. RELEASE again and breathe. You are designed to help yourself heal and overcome your wounds. RELEASE one more time and breathe.
How are you feeling? Check in to see how much the intensity has come down.
Now, I want to teach you another one of my techniques. It’s the REMOVE technique. There are times when the influence of people around us is detrimental to our wellbeing. We can REMOVE this negative environmental influence the same way we release emotions, restore paradigms, and strengthen weak things in us. We focus our intention on REMOVING any energies that are bringing us down, short circuiting us or blocking us from moving forward.
Ready? Take whatever you’re feeling and think the word REMOVE and breathe. Picture it leaving your body and dissipating in the air. Think REMOVE again and breathe. You’re in charge of your inner space. REMOVE one more time and take a deep breath.
Are you feeling lighter, freer or more hopeful yet?
Let’s go through it together again. Notice what you’re thinking or feeling. Is it trying to tell you something? If so, write it down. How intense is it? Now, think REMOVE and breathe. REMOVE again and breathe. Last time, REMOVE and take a deep breath.
Good.
Pause this episode if you need to keep working. You’re powerful and can create healing in your heart and in your life.
Repeat these techniques any time, anywhere to help you stay clear of negative external influences.
The more quickly we can recognize and resolve the negative energy that affects us, the more steady we can feel and the higher we can keep our vibration. This makes it that much easier to feel peace, confidence, and joy.
Let’s move forward together. Let go of the wounds and disappointments from the year, forgive and heal where you need to forgive and heal, and begin creating the life you really want for the coming year. The world is open to you! Own your power and possibilities. Choose action and embrace hope as you welcome in the new year!
